Tennessee Pastor Bryan Nerren has now been detained in India for over five months. He was originally arrested in India for some issues in customs, but even after he completed all the required paper work and fees India has required, they still are not letting him go. Recently members of Congress sent a letter to the Indian Foreign Secretary asking for his release. Even with this letter, India has not sent a definite answer on when he will be released.
Please pray for the release of Bryan Nerren. The Indian officials know that he was in India trying to do Christian work. India has been persecuting Christians more and more frequently over the past few years. According to an article by the Christian Post, “Since the current ruling party took power in 2014, incidents against Christians have increased, and Hindu radicals often attack Christians with little to no consequences,”
Persecution should come as no surprise to the believer. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 3:12, “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” God tells us ahead of time that we will suffer persecution. We shouldn’t let persecution keep us from going places with the Gospel, but rather we should go in spite of there being persecution.
Please pray for laborers for India. Pray for people to go to this country with the Gospel. The majority of people in India have never heard a clear presentation of the Gospel, therefore hundreds of millions of people in India are without hope. If you would be interested in learning about how you could go to India with the Gospel, please contact us. We are praying for God to send laborers to India and all around the world.
