Asia News: China’s Economy Slumping in Wake of Coronavirus.

China has been reporting less and less new cases of the novel coronavirus. Many people in China are confident that the worst is past and that things will get back to normal soon. The economy however is suffering. According to an article by thepochtimes factory activity actually expanded in March, but the economy is still not stabilizing. This is not surprising considering all of the quarantine measures put in place to control the virus. It might be months or even years before the Chinese economy gets back to where it was before the virus.

People in China have had a hard year so far, and it looks like economically it isn’t going to get better soon. This is actually good news for sharing the Gospel. Jesus says in Mark 10:25 “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” The Bible makes it clear that poor people are usually more receptive to the Gospel. Lets pray that as people struggle financially in China, their hearts would realize that they need salvation from sin.

Would you pray for God to send more missionaries to China? People might be searching for salvation from sin, but if there is no one to tell them about Jesus, how will they get saved? Would you pray if God might have you go to China with the Gospel? Would you pray for God to send more laborers to China?
