Mindy Bush: Womanhood OGTC

God has a special design for womanhood and it is pretty amazing!  Sadly the world we live in has a very distorted view of womanhood.  Young people are being bombarded with the humanistic ideas of gender confusion and competition between male and female.  The feminist movement has been destroying God’s plan for men, women and marriage.  God made man and woman equally for a specific purpose and we can only be fulfilled and satisfied with who we are when we recognize our role and understand why God created us.  This course for the young ladies in the OGTC takes a look at what the Bible says about women and how we can live life as a woman of God.  We will be studying what the Bible says about God’s plan for womanhood, manhood, marriage and the relationships in our lives.

Along with studying womanhood from the Scriptures, we are memorizing Colossians 3:12-17.  We are looking at the character qualities of a person wholly surrendered to God.

Each class period we also have a practical session, which includes learning to cook from scratch, sewing/mending, how to be a good steward in the home with the money God has provided and other home-making skills. “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Col. 3:17

I like the quote by Elisabeth Elliot, which sums up my purpose for teaching this class to these young ladies. “We are called to be women. The fact that I am a woman does not make me a different kind of Christian, but the fact that I am a Christian makes me a different kind of woman.  For I have accepted God’s idea of me, an day whole life is an offering back to Him of all that He wants me to be.”  I pray that the Lord will use this course to work in the lives of these young ladies, that they will accept who God made them and realize that He does have a special and specific plan for them.
