Why would someone go to Turkey?
It has been in the news quite frequently over the past several years and normally, not for good things. It is a 99.8% Muslims majority country.
Would that not mean that in going to Turkey, there would be a good chance of getting thrown in jail or worse— killed for being a Christian?
In Revelation 3:8 it says, “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name” God had set an open door for the Philadelphian church.
Well, today in the country of Turkey, God has set an open door!
In Turkey, it is not illegal for someone to be a Christian. It is not illegal for someone to convert from Islam to Christianity. In Turkey, you can have a legally recognized church, buy church property, put out a church sign and invite people to hear the gospel in the church.
There is such a great door in the country of Turkey and God is moving and working in the country! The need is great in Turkey and the task before us seems difficult, but we believe, we serve a big God who wants to see Turkey reached with the gospel. By getting the gospel into the country of Turkey, in turn we will have a greater impact on getting the gospel into the Middle East.
Turkey is the key to reaching the Middle East, by not only reaching the 4 million refugees that are there, but by training and sending men from there to take the gospel into Middle Eastern Countries! With all the political, religious and financial unrest in the country, God is moving in the hearts and lives of Turks to look for answers.
The younger Turks are turning away from Islam in droves and turning, sadly, towards agnosticism and atheism. Why is this? Because there is very little gospel witness going on in the country of Turkey.
Will you pray for the country of Turkey that God will work in the few laborers that are there or going there?
Will you pray that God will raise up more laborers to go to Turkey?
Will you consider giving your life to go and take the gospel to the people of Turkey.
God has opened a door currently in the country of Turkey and who knows how long that door will stay open. We must do all we can right now to get the gospel there before it is too late.
